Planning and Supervision of Ground Investigations for Proposed Developments, and Preparation of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Reports
This starts with pre-purchase Phase One desk studies on land identifying potential problems or limitations, from geological and historical records, together with site inspection, to determine the scope of investigation likely to be required. Planning conditions normally require Local Authority liaison prior to progressing to the Phase Two intrusive investigations.

The most appropriate investigation techniques can be selected, bearing in mind the complexity and nature of the problems, and appropriate cost. Methods may include geophysical surveys, trial pitting, probing, boring, core drilling, open hole drilling, with testing as appropriate. We prefer a phased approach as this allows the most cost effective method to be deployed. We do not carry our own investigation equipment, and we seek the most appropriate method and contractor with complete independence. All works carried out in general accordance with BS10175, BS5930 and to the standards expected by regulators including the National House Building Council (NHBC), the local Authority and the Environment Agency (EA).
